‘If I Could Turn Back The Hands of Time’

This is a tough call since I’ve already covered R Kelly’s most successful radio-friendly hits like ‘Ignition’, ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ and ‘The World’s Greatest’. While I don’t remember ever hearing ‘If I Could Turn Back The Hands of Time’ on the radio, it’s one of his few tracks I can imagine getting mainstream radio play in Ireland. The late nineties saw Kelly’s most obvious run for chart success and ‘If I Could Turn Back The Hands of Time’ owes a debt to ‘Unchained Melody’ and a dozen other classic sixties power-ballads in scope as well as sound.
